About The Renfrew Center The Renfrew Center has been a pioneer in the treatment of eating disorders since 1985.As the nation's first residential eating disorder facility, with locations in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas, Renfrew has helped more than 65,000 women with eating disorders and other behavioral health issues and trained more than 25,000 professionals.Renfrew provides women suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, eating disorder not otherwise specified (EDNOS) and related mental health problems, with the tools they need to succeed-in recovery and in life.Offering a warm, nurturing environment, Renfrew emphasizes a respect for the unique psychology of women, the importance of a collaborative therapeutic relationship, and the belief that every woman needs to actively participate in her own growth and recovery. Our Treatment Philosophy Decades of treatment experience and research has given Renfrew unique insight into the nature of eating disorders and other complex conditions that frequently accompany them, such as depression and anxiety. Renfrew helps patients restore physical and emotional health by understanding and dealing with the underlying causes of their disorders, making it possible for them to create a firm foundation for recovery, both in mind and body.To fully address the unique needs of each patient, Renfrew customizes each treatment plan and employs a skilled, multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, nurses, and other professionals-such as art, movement, and exercise therapists-all focused on helping each individual develop the tools she needs to succeed. In addition to eating disorders, Renfrew's specialized treatment programming addresses other issues that patients may experience, such as trauma, addiction, and substance abuse. Through family therapy sessions, multi-family discussion groups, family weekends, and consultations with the treatment team, family members play an integral part in the patient's care. As a Joint Commission-accredited facility, Renfrew is a preferred provider for most leading health insurance and managed care companies throughout North America, and has a long record of advocating with insurance carriers on our patient's behalf. Renfrew is unique in having staff specialists who are experienced in working directly with insurers, and unlike many other treatment centers, are able to bill carriers directly for reimbursement of treatment at any level of care.In terms of aftercare, Renfrew works closely with referring therapists and other healthcare professionals to create a thorough, personalized plan to help ensure that each patient's transition is successful. Another important component of the Renfrew experience is the bond it creates among patients and the lasting friendships that it fosters-relationships that are renewed and celebrated each year at annual alumni reunions.

Many years ago I did an externship and other affiliations while seeking degrees in Occupational Therapy and Pychology that I had the privilege to be a part of a truly special pioneer project of giving awareness and kindness to eating disorders. At the time this was very difficult due to stigma and the rate of depression and anxiety, plus,a host of other treatable mental difficulties or severe mental health issues women and men who suffer from eating disorders. Then and now Renfrew Center has been a healing place for many degrees of eating disorders and has greatly help our community as a well as patient travelers who come to seek kind relief, relistic understanding and various tools and options to reinvent themselves one small change at a time. Highly recommended by our Family of Pychology: therapists and council ,nutritionists and firness as well as our high end Image and style councilors and cosmotolgists who help the recreation of you. Good work Good People. If you are suffering from and eating disorder over eating obease, restriction or starving, even eliminating food as a dangerous practice Please call. I spent a little over 3 months there a year ago. I was fully weight restored, and had break through trauma work done. A year later, I have had some ups and downs, but I am still on the road to recovery. No one fully enjoys treatment. It's hard work. However, I had an extremely positive experience here that I will never forget.
