About

Destination Hope is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 6555 Powerline Road in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Destination Hope. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Destination Hope.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Destination Hope, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged Adults, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Destination Hope have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Destination Hope. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Destination Hope can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Destination Hope by visiting www.destinationhope.com now.

Destination Hope has been a great place to help me put my life back together. I got a lot out of the program and really enjoyed working with the people here as well as working with the other clients. I've made many friends here and started to build a great sober network. The groups with Vinny, Josh, Phil, Matt, and Gail where all great. We where able to get to many of the core issues me and many of the others where dealing with. My Therapist Devon was able to get me to look at my Character Defects and come up with ways to work past them. Yoga with Berta was always great and very relaxing! It kept me going when some of the days got mundane. The techs for the most part where great! Specifically Jeremy, Dan, Jimmy, and Cabot where awesome to talk with and be around. The one thing I would change is to do some better activities. To many park days!! Over all though it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

When I arrived at destination hope i was a broken man and only went to treatment because i wanted to detox my body and then go back to my home town. However as the weeks went on my heart had a change due to the therapist and the staff. I now am reentering the world and work force and i feel as though i am able to stay sober while being happy. I cannot thank them enough for all the help they have done while i was in their care.

To whom this may concern, I would like to acknowledge Destination Hope for its ability to help people no matter the circumstances. Certain individuals who currently work at this treatment facility really go above and beyond which is paramount in this field. Some of these people include Matt the Alumni coordinator, Gabe who is a therapist, and Berta the one and only Yoga teacher. I truly appreciate all the positive energy that these people expend to help others. My experience at Destination Hope was phenomenal. I thank you guys from inside my heart! --Lawrence

My first thought while writing this review is “ I wish I could select more than five stars. Destination Hope & the Sylvia Brafman program completely changed my life and the relationship I have with my family today. Truly I’ll never be able to thank them enough. Unfortunately I returned home after treatment but I definitely plan on keeping contact with my therapist and with the alumni program that is offered to us. Thank you again Destination Hope. -Nicole

I attended Destination Hope from late August through early October of 2017. This was not my first attempt at sobriety nor my first attempt at an addiction recovery center. The staff here was incredible. Every tech truly showed passion for their job and for every person there. My therapist was incredibly knowledgeable and easy to relate with. Upon leaving, they set me up with the best plan for my success. While I did not follow that plan in its entirety, God stood by my side and kept me headed in the right direction. I am currently over 15 months clean and sober from all mind/mood altering substances, and am living life with a purpose. If it wasn't for Destination Hope, who knows where I would be today. I highly recommend Destination Hope to anyone who is struggling with addiction.

If your a first timer like I was, I definitely recommend Destination Hope to be your first choice! I don’t have much to compare with since it was my first rehab but I was sure luck enough to have gotten exactly what I was looking for. To the staff and even the facility, I give this center a 5 star. Everything I was able to learn about addiction and mental health really set me up for a successful future. The staff Is really genuine. They care about their clients like family. They are there to help you and be there for you and make sure your stay is wonderful. I made loads of friends here that had the same goal as I did. Even the therapist and the groups were wonderful. Honestly I am forever greatful for Destination Hope. They believed in me and never gave up on me and now I’m living a happily sober life. If this is something you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to make that call.

Great place, their PHP program was beautiful. My room had a beautiful view of the lake and the pool was always clean and relaxing. Throughout treatment I learned coping skills and how to live life as an adult. I've been to rehab several times but DH understood that I had other issues and not just drugs. I couldn't stop using because I never dealt with the other issues and thanks to DH I have 5 months clean.

Hello to anyone that suffers from a addiction of drugs or alcohol. I’m a 56 year old male and have suffered with this disease since the age of approximately 18. And to say suffered is putting it mildly. I’ve personally been detoxed & followed up with many rehabs after. All attempts have failed and I felt that ending my life was my only solution. I could go on and on but will spare you of what you already know what I mean. As a last ditch effort I was sent to Destination Hope in Florida. I was amazed at the staffs ability from techs to Doctors to treat me as a human but at the same time get to the root cause of my addiction & behaviors I can say without any hesitation that they saved my LIFE and nursed me back to health mentally , physically , & emotionally. If you truly seek nonsense help , call destination Hope before its to late. J.McMullin

All in all a good experience. The techs are awesome and made the stay bearable. Being able to purchase and cook your own food (which is included during your stay) is way better then other options. Regularly taken to meetings which is absolutely a necessity. Group hours are completely reasonable & allowed sufficient smoke breaks. If you apply yourself and advocate for yourself and make your needs known the program has a lot to offer. Like anything else in life you get out of it what you put into it. Shout out to the alumni director RJ; hes the man, regularly checks up and is there to help anyway he can.

I went to treatment 1 month after my Irish twin brother. I honesty didn't know what to expect being it was my first time in any type of treatment center. I didn't have a ride to the detox facility so they came and picked me up, which I was more than grateful for. From detox Jon picked me up and took me to the facility. First 30 days for the best 30 days of my entire life. A person named Vinny would come in every Tuesday and talk with us, he said get clean and watch what happens. If you're looking for the next great love, or financial freedom or just happiness in general get clean and then come talk to me. God those words ring out in my head to this day. Unfortunately statistics were right, the little brother did not make it but had almost one year of sobriety. Right now I now have a 5-month-old daughter, Casey and myself built a thriving business and we're living on the intercoastal. This all came from simply doing the right thing, sticking to the rules. Unfortunately he's now gone but destination hope did their job quite well because I saw a side of my little brother that I had not seen in a very long time and for that I am forever grateful. God bless you all!

This place saved my brothers life. He went in and out of rehab to rehab and could never stay sober. When he admitted with them 5 months ago after he overdosed and my parents and I thought he would never beat his addiction. We thank God everyday that we found Destination Hope. The therapy and fellowship he found there is exactly what he needed. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone that is struggling. Thank you so much for helping my brother beat this thing and it is a blessing to have my best friend back!

My 27 years old daughter was struggling with Depression for her whole life. She was an honors student at Colombia and she nearly lost her scholarship and her life due to her mental health issues. I'm Proud to say my daughter has turned her life around and I will have the honor of watching her graduate this spring. THANK YOU DESTINATION HOPE. Thank you for saving my daughter life!!!

After reading the many negative reviews I got the feeling if I didn't know this place I would be against going there. This is so far from the truth! My name is David and Im a Addict Alcoholic who 4 1/2 years go went to DH and that is where the foundation of my recovery started. Most people unless they are addicts don't understand the main thing about recovery, If you are not 100% willing it does not work. DH put the tools in my hands to recover. They made sure that I stayed on the solution not the problem, then taught me the coping skills I so desperately needed to go through Life problems without using or drinking and there have been many in my short 4 1/2 years. February 9th 2 years ago lost my partner of 25 years suddenly passed in my arms, I did not use. What I did was use the tools that DH and my program taught me. I just recently lost my mom and Im still sober because I remain 100% willing to go through things and not around them. That learning process started at DH. So many great things have happened since I started this journey I used to think my best days sober were the good days I now know the best days sober are my hardest days that I don't pick up over. So please do not just read a review about a treatment center and make a decision over it. This is a deadly disease but it is 100% treatable. Together we can do anything!!! Much love, One Day At A Time! David

Our son was at Destination Hope for treatment. Although, he has only been out of Destination Hope for a week or so, he seems to be doing fine and has a very positive attitude. More so than in the past. It is a bit to early to give a final review, but he seemed to react well to the facility and the treatment. Jonathon was very attentive and kept us informed throughout his stay. We asked for a weekly conference call with our son and the Destination Hope team. I highly suggest doing that.

I've been to about 12 different rehabs and some were good and some sucked. I was referred to this place because a friend knew someone that worked there. I must say that I am so happy that I took his advice. This place changed my life. I left there about 3 months ago and I couldn't believe that my life could be this good. I have been able to stay in touch with my therapist and they have always taken the time for me. I know that there are a lot of bad press out in the world about treatment in Florida but this place is top notch. I normally don't even write reviews but I felt that as I am going through the steps that I pay amends to the people that helped me get to where I am today.

Destination Hope literally changed my life, my world, my perspective. They took me from the gates of hell, walked me through and placed me into recovery, into love, into life. I saw no hope for myself when I went in there, I had accepted a lifestyle of drugs, prostitution and living on the street going in and out of jails and institutions for 10 years. I was court ordered to go there and didn't want to be there, didn't want recovery and I made that clear. After working with my therapist, hearing the testimony of the alumni coordinator, attending their group therapy with other staff members and laughing with the techs I found myself waking up happy looking forward to my day and wanting recovery which was a complete miracle because I was waking up with a twisted. Feeling in the pit of my stomach and wishing for death. They restored my hope, showed me love and lead me into recovery. Today I'm 6 months sober which is close to the longest I've ever remained sober and I'm on my 8th step which is the furthest I've ever got in my steps. I have friends today, I can laugh today, I am free from the obsession to use drugs. I have a job, I am a productive memeber of society. I used to be up for days on the streets and watching people drive by in their cars going to work, wishing for a normal life, wondering how they are able to live without drugs, yuerning to be a part of and now I'm here, thanks to destination hope, God, a little bit of hope and a little bit of willingness. I would recommend this program to anyone who feels hopeless, broken or has a family member who can't seem to get this right. I was a hard case and they helped to restore me to sanity. I believe they can do this for you and your family and friends to. I can never repay them for all the work they put into me. I am forever Grateful for every staff member at destination hope.

I had an amazing experience at Destination Hope. The treatment and therapy I received was outstanding. I learned how to deal with the deep seeded issues I had, not just my problems with drugs and alcohol. Also, I was able to still feel apart of society with outside meetings, fitness and weekend field trips. All the things I was taught and the work I put in at DH, prepared me for recovery on my own. I now have a life beyond my dreams, and I sincerely thank DH and the great staff.

Destination Hope Women's program is by far the best treatment facility in the Ft. Lauderdale area. They are equipped to treat dual diagnosis. The therapists and programs are amazing, especially the Tuesday night Family Program. Great support from all of the staff. If I had to recommend a facility to help a woman recover from substance abuse, I would strongly recommend this facility. Maria G

An incredible treatment center! Destination Hope is one of the best treatment centers that specialize in dual diagnosis. I have worked in the medical field for a few years now, and I know their therapists and staff well. They are some of the best people I know. I have friends that got better here. They are miracle workers.
